Axel Staudt, LL.M., Partner

Axel Staudt is a member of the Practice Group Merger & Acquisitions. He advises national and international clients in transaction and manages the entire transaction process and is in particular focused on IP and IT related aspects of the transaction. Furthermore, Axel Staudt is active in Private Equity/Venture Capital focused transactions advising investors as well start-up companies mainly related to software, digital media and biotechnology (see Practice Group Venture Capital/Private Equity/Start-ups).

His second main focus is the advice of companies in antitrust related matters (Practice Group Competition), in particular in the area of merger control. This comprises the preparation of merger control proceedings before the Federal Cartel Office and the European Commission and the coordination of international applications of merger controls in cooperation with specialized foreign law firms, we are working with on a regular basis, as well as the assistance of companies during merger control proceedings of third parties.

Third main area of expertise is the legal assistance of companies in the IT sector, in particular preparing and negotiating of IT, software and SaaS agreements, both for IT companies as well as for customers of IT services.
